Christmas is always such a busy time of year. So many parties = many treats to make!
The first party of the season was with my friends from my gym, Crossfit Alter. I know…sounds weird but if you know anything about Crossfit, you know that the best thing about it is that it’s very much like a family. Not only do we suffer together, we actually tend to spend time together…outside of the box.
So when the party was announced, I immediately decided to make red velvet cake pops! I have made red velvet cakes and cupcakes before but as you know, I recently started learning to make cake pops. So this was a perfect excuse to try to get them right!
I started with this recipe.
Once the cake cooled, I crumbed it and removed the hard pieces. I whipped up a batch of delicious cream cheese frosting and mixed it with the crumbs until it was well combined. I used this to get the right amount to create the perfect size ball. I have to say that these turned out to be the most perfect cake balls to date! Look how smooth they turned out!
I let them rest overnight while we headed to check these guys out…
What a game! But back to the task at hand…finishing the cake pops…
I got both white and red candy melts ready. I used a little melted chocolate to adhere the cake ball to the stick to now have a cake pop!
I think these are the best ones I’ve made and everyone raved about them! As they said that they not only looked good but tasted fabulous too!
So onto the next party….and more baking!
